Privacy policy
Last updated July 20, 2026. This is how we think about privacy around here: collect as little as possible, use it only for the job you hired us to do, and give it back or delete it whenever you ask.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to find and remove your listings from data broker sites.
- We never sell or share your data with advertisers, marketers, or anyone else — except when we file opt-outs with data brokers on your behalf.
- You can ask us to delete everything we have on you at any time, no questions asked.
What we collect and why
Free scan: When you run a free scan, we ask for your name, city, and state or region. That is just enough information to search public data broker listings and show you where your information appears.
If you become a member: We may collect your full address history, phone numbers, email addresses, and any names or aliases data brokers have associated with you. We use this only to locate your listings and file removal requests. The more accurate the information, the better we can find every place you have been published.
Communication: If you email us or book a call, we keep those messages so we can actually help you. That is it.
What we never do
- Sell your personal information to anyone, ever.
- Share your data with advertisers, analytics companies, or data brokers beyond what is necessary to file your opt-outs.
- Use your information to build profiles, score you, or do anything unrelated to removing your listings.
- Train AI models on your personal data.
How we submit removal requests on your behalf
When we file an opt-out with a data broker, we submit it using your own name and contact information — not Quietline's identity — as if you were submitting the request yourself. We do this because a number of large brokers (most notably the PeopleConnect network: Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, US Search, ZabaSearch, and Classmates) refuse to process removal requests that come from a third-party agent, even with a signed authorization on file. Submitting in your name is the only way to actually get your listings removed from those sites.
Practically, that means the broker sees a removal request from you, with your name, city, state, and email address. It does not mean anyone else gets your information — we only ever hand it to the specific broker who is holding your listing, for the sole purpose of taking it down. If you'd rather we not use your information this way for a particular broker, email us and we'll skip it.
For brokers that require extra identity verification (such as PeopleConnect, LexisNexis, and TransUnion CLEAR), we may also collect your date of birth, phone number, and current address. These are optional, stored securely, and used solely to complete removals on your behalf.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you are an active member, plus 30 days after you cancel. The extra 30 days are just in case you change your mind or need a final report. If you want everything deleted sooner, email us and we will wipe it within a few business days.
Where it is stored and how we protect it
Your data is stored in secure cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the people who need it to do removals. We use strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and regular security practices. We are a small team, so we keep the surface area small on purpose.
No system is perfect, and we will never pretend otherwise. If we ever learn of a breach that affects your data, we will tell you directly and quickly.
Your right to delete your data
You can delete your Quietline account and all associated data at any time, no questions asked.
- If you have an account: sign in, open your dashboard, scroll to the "Danger zone" section at the bottom, and click "Delete my account." You'll be asked to type
DELETEto confirm. We immediately cancel your subscription, wipe your profile, scan requests, broker tracking, removal profile (DOB / phone / address), correspondence logs, and your login itself. - If you never signed up (you only ran a free scan or emailed us): email hello@quietline.com from the address you used, and we'll delete everything associated with you within a couple of business days.
What deletion does not do: if we've already filed opt-outs on your behalf, those requests have already gone out to the brokers and your listings have already been (or are being) removed from their sites. Deleting your Quietline account stops us from doing further work — it doesn't un-submit those opt-outs, which is the outcome you wanted anyway.
Your other rights
You also have the right to:
- Access the personal information we have about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Ask us questions about how your data is handled.
To exercise any of these rights, just email us at hello@quietline.com. We will respond as fast as we can, usually within a couple of business days.
